Seven-time world champion Hamilton is now probed for a possible red flag violation following the last practice at the Singapore Grand Prix, a session that was topped by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

Incident Details

The Mercedes driver reportedly accelerated at the final chicane of Turns 16 and 17 once the session was halted due to a crash involving the Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson.

If Hamilton be deemed in violation of the alleged breach, he may receive a grid penalty for the upcoming Grand Prix.

Session Results

The Red Bull star finished only 0.017s ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, the present championship leader, with under 0.1 seconds separating the top five competitors.

The difference separating Piastri and Norris was only 0.072 seconds, with the British driver behind by 25 points in the standings with seven rounds left.

His soft compound lap at the end of the practice was compromised when the Williams driver Alex Albon went off at turn thirteen, located at the far side of the Anderson Bridge.
